I’m Kayla

I help photographers implement effective strategies and optimized systems so they can grow a streamlined, fulfilling business — without burning out. With a background in photography and experience running multiple businesses (including a property management company and marketing agency), I bring real-world insight into what works and what doesn't.

  • A Gift & A Lifelong Love

    A minnie mouse camera. And far too many film cameras to count in the years to follow.

    - Have had a camera in my hand ever since.

  • My First Business

    Fesh-faced at 19 years old, I was diving into the world of Cosmetology. Intense hustle mode and building my clientele from the ground up.

    By 2013, my schedule behind the chair was busy and full of loyal clients. And then it changed…

  • A New Baby

    I was blessed with my first baby. Suddenly, I'm craving more than just endless hours behind the chair and professional satisfaction. I needed more intentional time as my priorities shifted. What resulted from using my camera to capture the precious fleeting moments of my little one became ‘a thing’ I did.

  • Pivot

    What started as a side hustle for family and friends quickly snowballed into a passion and business. I honed my expertise on photographing families at first, then seniors, couples, and eventually, I was photographing high-end weddings and swoon-worthy elopements.

  • Leveling Up

    Then it happened: around the five-year mark, I hit a wall. My biz was booming, but it was sucking the life out of me and I had another newborn.

    I optimized everything from software to knowledge, systems and strategy; I was on a mission to reclaim my time by finding smarter ways to work. I freed up valuable time for what truly matters. This passion to work smarter had optimized my workflows and systems and I was spending HALF the time inside my business and more time behind the lens and with my family.

  • Full House + Growing Business

    Amidst caring for my third baby, I embarked on a journey of mentoring photographers—a passion I've wanted to pursue for some time. Little did I know the immense joy it would bring and the profound realization of the art of teaching. Until 2024, mentoring was offered on a referral basis only. Today, it has blossomed into an endeavor I adore, connecting with fellow creatives and striking the perfect balance between empathy and professional guidance.
